DAG CONNECT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
DAG Connect helps you register vehicles and purchases, find dealers and service providers, manage vehicle records, receive support, and participate in available rewards programmes. These Terms explain your rights and responsibilities when using DAG Connect and the responsibilities of DAG Industries Nigeria Limited.
1. WHO WE ARE AND HOW THESE TERMS APPLY
DAG Connect is operated by DAG Industries Nigeria Limited, a company incorporated under the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with its registered address at 11, Sapara Williams Street (off Ladipo Oluwole Street), Ikeja Industrial Estate, Lagos State, Nigeria. In these Terms, “DAG”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean DAG Industries Nigeria Limited. “You” means the person using the service and, where applicable, an organisation that person is authorised to represent.
These Terms apply to the DAG Connect mobile application and related account services and portals that display or link to them. They cover riders, authorised representatives, dealers, service providers, staff and approved business users to the extent relevant to each role. Access to a business or staff function requires our authorisation and may also be governed by a separate agreement or employment policy.
Read these Terms before selecting the acceptance control during registration. Your affirmative acceptance creates an agreement with DAG. You may save a copy and access the current version in the app. If you do not accept, do not create an account or use account-based services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed. Acknowledging that policy or accepting these Terms does not give consent to optional processing. We request separate choices for optional identity verification, marketing, personalised advertising, location access, and other processing that requires consent. Refusing those choices does not prevent use of unrelated core services.
Additional terms for a particular promotion, paid service or business programme must be shown before you participate. They govern the specific offer, subject to applicable law and the privacy protections in our Privacy Policy. A private software-development agreement between DAG and its vendor is not part of your agreement with us.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNT ACCESS
DAG Connect accounts are intended for people aged 18 or older who can enter into a binding agreement. You must provide accurate information and be entitled to use the phone number, email address, and vehicle information you supply. An authorised representative must act within their authority and must not impersonate the account holder.
Registration may begin with a phone number or email address. A verified phone number is required as the account’s main phone contact. An email address can be used to sign in only after it has been verified and linked to the account. Account access may use a six-digit PIN, one-time password. or another supported authentication method. Facebook sign-in, where offered to existing users, is optional and subject to the permissions shown.
Keep your PIN and one-time passwords confidential. Enter them yourself in the authorised verification flow; a dealer, field agent, or support representative must not ask to keep them. Use a secure device, log out on shared devices, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or loss of your registered number. You are not automatically liable for all activity merely because it appears under your account; responsibility depends on the facts and applicable law.
We may require proportionate verification before changing contact details, resetting credentials, or recovering an account. Your existing contact remains linked until the replacement has been verified. Rate limits or temporary security restrictions may apply to failed attempts. Contact support if a restriction appears incorrect.
Staff and business accounts have role-specific permissions. Field staff must use their assigned credentials; authorised portal users must use the approved organisational sign-in method. Do not share credentials or use another person’s access. We may withdraw business access when authorisation or employment ends.
3. ASSISTED REGISTRATION AND OPTIONAL IDENTITY VERIFICATION
An authorised dealer or DAG field representative may help you register. They must show or explain these Terms and the Privacy Policy in a form you can understand, allow you to review your information, and record your own choices. They may not select optional consents for you, register you without authority, or retain copies of credentials or identity numbers. Ask for your registration reference and check the recorded dealer or referral attribution.
NIN verification is optional. You may skip it or return to it later without losing access to ordinary registration and core account functions. A failed verification does not by itself establish wrongdoing and can be reviewed or retried through the available process.
If you choose NIN verification, the verification notice will identify the provider, explain the data required, and request your consent before processing. A further one-time password may be sent to the contact associated with the identity record to check that you control it. DAG retains only the verification outcome, timestamp, and provider reference from that verification process. Your NIN will not be stored in app databases, uploads, logs, analytics, or backups. Do not send it through support messages or receipt uploads.
DAG Connect does not collect BVN. Do not supply your BVN, bank login, bank PIN, or banking one-time password to register, obtain a reward, or request app support. Any future identity-verification change requires a revised notice and the applicable legal safeguards before introduction.
4. AVAILABLE SERVICES AND FUTURE FEATURES
Available functions may include a product catalogue; vehicle and purchase registration; dealer and provider search; loyalty points and redemptions; enquiries and financing referrals; account notifications; vehicle transfers; historical service records; and privacy controls. Some functions may be limited by location, product, role, pilot participation, or the app version.
Mechanic and workshop job records, odometer tracking, predictive maintenance, vehicle health scores, service camps, fleet features, self-service advertiser facilities, analytics-marketplace access, and other enhancements apply only when introduced and enabled. Mentioning a feature in these Terms does not promise its release or a release date. We will explain material new functions and relevant privacy choices before use.
Catalogue entries and enquiries are invitations to obtain information unless a specific purchase flow expressly states otherwise. Registering an earlier purchase is not a new order, payment or guarantee of stock. Confirm price, taxes, delivery, availability, compatibility, warranty, and seller identity before buying. Any charge for a service must be disclosed before you agree to it. Your network provider’s data and call charges may apply, subject to any stated toll-free arrangement.
Financing enquiries are referrals only. Before submitting a referral, we will identify the finance provider and the information to be shared and obtain the necessary consent. DAG Connect does not itself grant a loan or guarantee approval through that referral. Credit assessment, interest, fees, repayment, and lending terms are the responsibility of the identified lender under a separate agreement. NIN verification for the app is not a loan application.
5. VEHICLES PURCHASES AND TRANSFER OF RECORDS
Register only vehicles and purchases you own or are authorised to manage. Check chassis, engine and serial numbers, dealer, purchase date, item quantities, price and receipt details. Where scanning or optical character recognition is available, review the result before submission. Remove unrelated personal or financial information from receipts and photographs.
Product identifiers may be checked against DAG’s product records. Previously registered items may be locked against duplicate registration. Contact support with reasonable evidence if a valid item is rejected, attribution is wrong, or an entry needs correction. Administrative corrections must be recorded; a disputed record will be reviewed rather than treated as conclusive evidence against you.
Registration in DAG Connect is an app record. It is not a government vehicle registration, title document, roadworthiness certificate, insurance policy or replacement for purchase evidence. It does not determine legal ownership against a third party.
To transfer a vehicle record, use the available transfer process and provide the recipient’s correct account details. Both parties must have the necessary authority and complete the applicable confirmation checks. The app transfer does not replace the documents or legal steps required for a sale or change of ownership.
Only vehicle-linked information needed by the new keeper/owner, such as relevant maintenance events, should accompany a transfer. The transfer preview will explain what will be shared. Your private contact details, identity-verification information, unrelated purchases, complaints and personal reward balance do not transfer with the vehicle. Receipts and service records must be redacted where necessary to protect previous owners and others.
Historical records may be imported from authorised sources and matched to a chassis number. They may contain errors or omissions. You may request correction or dispute a match. We do not treat an imported record as proof that you consented to marketing or authorised a new use of your data.
6. PROVIDER DISCOVERY SERVICING AND VEHICLE GUIDANCE
Directory listings may show provider locations, categories, opening hours, ratings, and verification status. Proximity results depend on the location you choose or permit the app to use. A verified badge means the provider has passed DAG’s applicable directory checks; it is not a guarantee of every service, qualification, product or outcome. Sponsored placements will be identified.
A service request, where available, is sent to the selected service team. It is distinct from a general customer-care enquiry. Confirm acceptance, scope, parts, price, timing and cancellation terms directly with the named provider before work starts. A request or notification alone does not guarantee an appointment or completed repair.
Unless DAG is expressly identified as the seller or service provider, the supply contract is with the named dealer, mechanic or workshop. Their responsibility for their work does not exclude DAG’s responsibility for its own representations, obligations or conduct. You retain applicable consumer remedies.
Confirm completion only after checking the service. You may challenge inaccurate job entries, mileage or closure status. Where service camps are available, the listing must distinguish free checks or labour from chargeable parts and materials. Obtain a quote before accepting chargeable work.
Service reminders, replacement estimates, and any future health scores are informational tools based on the available records. They are not a mechanical inspection or safety certification. Follow manufacturer guidance and obtain qualified advice for faults. Do not use the app while riding or driving; stop safely first. DAG Connect is not an emergency-response service.
7. LOYALTY POINTS COUPONS AND PROMOTIONS
Points and rewards are governed by the rules displayed for the relevant programme or campaign before you participate. Those rules must state eligible actions or products, verification requirements, earning and redemption rates, limits, expiry, availability and any exclusions. Account balances and reward history show recorded activity and remain subject to correction of substantiated errors.
Welcome, installation, referral, and milestone benefits apply only where an active offer is displayed and its conditions are met. A particular airtime amount or reward is not guaranteed simply because you install the app. Referral rewards must not be obtained through fake accounts, unsolicited bulk messages, duplicate purchases, or false attribution. Share referral links yourself; do not upload someone else’s contacts without authority.
Where offered, points may be redeemed for airtime, data, vouchers, products or other stated benefits. Check the destination phone number, selected benefit, points cost and expiry before confirming. A redemption may become irreversible after a third-party provider fulfils it; this does not remove your rights where DAG or the fulfiller made an error or failed to deliver. Report missing or incorrect rewards to support.
Points are promotional benefits, not a bank balance, deposit, loan or investment. They are not redeemable for cash or transferable between users unless the published programme expressly permits it. These Terms do not authorise a payment wallet or deposit-taking service.
We may correct a duplicate award, reverse benefits linked to a cancelled or invalid purchase, or suspend a disputed reward while investigating reasonable evidence of abuse. We will explain the reason, where lawful, and allow you to challenge the decision. We will not remove valid rewards merely because you decline optional advertising or withdraw marketing consent.
Changes to earning rates apply prospectively. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes, expiry rules or programme closure and a reasonable opportunity to use valid accrued benefits, subject to law and genuine fraud or security concerns. We will not retrospectively reduce an already confirmed redemption.
8. COMMUNICATIONS ADVERTISING AND BUSINESS PARTICIPATION
We distinguish operational messages, such as verification codes, service-status updates and security notices, from promotions. You can manage available notification categories and device permissions. Disabling push delivery may mean you need to check the app for updates; it does not withdraw consent to every separate processing purpose.
Direct marketing and personalised advertising require separate consent. Refusing or withdrawing it will not close your account. General contextual promotions may still appear without profiling you, provided any non-essential tracking remains subject to consent. An advertisement is not a guarantee or endorsement of the advertiser’s product or finance offer.
Dealers, mechanics, workshops, advertisers and analytics partners must use only the functions and data authorised for their role. They must keep listings and submissions accurate, observe confidentiality, respect consent and opt-outs, and comply with applicable advertising, consumer and data protection law. They must not scrape rider records, contact users for unrelated marketing, sell access, or try to identify individuals from anonymised reports.
Dealer incentives, mechanic incentives, advertiser charges and partner access require the relevant separate commercial terms. App statements and attribution records may be queried through the applicable dispute process. Staff performance rankings, where available, must be open to correction and human review; they are not by themselves a final employment decision.
9. CONTENT ACCEPTABLE USE AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
You retain any rights you have in photographs, receipts, reviews and other content you submit. You grant DAG a non-exclusive permission to host, reproduce, format and display that content only as needed to provide the relevant service, moderate it, maintain records lawfully and implement your sharing instructions. This is not permission to use your image or review in external advertising without separate authorisation.
Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Do not publish another person’s private information, identity numbers, threats, discriminatory abuse, unlawful material or misleading claims. We may restrict or remove content for an identified breach, legal obligation or credible safety concern and, where lawful, explain the reason and offer a review route. Providers may dispute reviews; a negative rating alone is not a reason for removal.
Do not impersonate others, submit fabricated purchases or service records, manipulate mileage or rewards, bypass security or consent controls, introduce malicious code, interfere with the service, or access data outside your permissions. Report a suspected vulnerability privately through support and avoid accessing or disclosing other people’s data.
DAG and its licensors retain rights in the app, software, branding and platform materials. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the app for its authorised functions. Do not copy, sell, or exploit it outside that permission or remove proprietary notices, except to the extent applicable law permits. Nothing in these Terms transfers your statutory rights over your personal data to DAG.
10. PRIVACY PERMISSIONS AND YOUR CHOICES
The Privacy Policy describes data categories, purposes, legal grounds, recipients, international processing, retention and your rights. You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing, withdraw consent, and challenge relevant automated decisions using the in-app privacy controls or our privacy contact.
Location access is optional and purpose-specific. You can choose a location manually instead of sharing your current position. Camera or photo access should be limited to the image or scan you choose to supply. We do not require access to your whole contact list, call history, or banking credentials for ordinary use.
A change to these Terms does not authorise new data processing by itself. Where new consent is required, we will ask before the relevant processing begins. You may complain directly to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission without first completing our internal complaints process.
11. AVAILABILITY SUSPENSION AND ACCOUNT CLOSURE
We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing DAG Connect. Maintenance, faults, network outages, and third-party failures may interrupt it. We will take reasonable steps to restore service and communicate material disruption where practicable. No vendor performance target is incorporated as a customer service-level guarantee by these Terms.
We may restrict the minimum necessary functionality where reasonably required to address security risks, unlawful conduct, material misuse, a legal obligation or loss of business authorisation. Except where urgent action or law prevents it, we will explain the reason, give an opportunity to remedy a remediable breach and provide a route to challenge the restriction. We will not suspend you simply for exercising privacy or consumer rights.
You may stop using DAG Connect at any time and request account closure or deletion through the in-app account/privacy controls or support. Uninstalling the app alone does not close your account or delete server records. Before closure, you may request your data, resolve pending transfers and use eligible rewards under the applicable rules. We will explain any material consequences before confirming closure.
Closure ends access to the account but does not extinguish accrued rights, unresolved complaints or legally required records. Deletion, and any restricted retention follow the Privacy Policy. Where practicable, we will give reasonable advance notice before permanently discontinuing the service and provide an opportunity to retrieve your information.
12. RESPONSIBILITY AND LEGAL REMEDIES
Each party is responsible for loss caused by its breach, negligence or unlawful conduct to the extent provided by law. DAG is not responsible for loss caused solely by an independent provider or your misuse where DAG has not contributed to it or assumed responsibility. This does not exclude any duty imposed on DAG by law.
To the extent permitted by law, DAG does not accept liability for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when these Terms were accepted. This provision does not exclude or limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of statutory data protection duties, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
No provision makes you waive your right to compensation, a refund, correction, redress or another mandatory remedy. There is no requirement to indemnify DAG for its own wrongdoing, and no liability cap tied to the price paid for this app.
13. COMPLAINTS GOVERNING LAW AND CHANGES
Contact customer support with your account or registration reference, the issue and the remedy requested. Do not include your PIN, OTP, NIN or BVN. We will acknowledge and investigate complaints without unreasonable delay. Privacy complaints may be directed to our Data Protection Officer using the Privacy Policy contact details.
These Terms are governed by the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. You may bring a claim before a court of competent jurisdiction and complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another competent regulator. We may agree to mediation after a dispute arises, but these Terms do not impose compulsory arbitration or require you to exhaust an internal process before seeking statutory remedies.
We may update these Terms for changes in services, law, or reasonable operational needs. We will publish the version and effective date and give reasonable advance notice of material changes. Where a material change requires renewed acceptance, we will request it before applying that change to your continued account use. Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued rights. You may close your account if you do not accept a change.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply insofar as lawful. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. Any transfer of our service obligations must preserve your accrued rights and applicable data protection safeguards and will be notified where required.
